Homemade Cake Pan Release Recipe

Have you ever worked hard in the kitchen baking up the perfect cake only to have half of it stick to the pan when you tried getting it out? Or do you feel like you go through 15 steps to keep your cakes from sticking to the pan? Then this recipe is for you. With only 3 ingredients, it is a simple and cheap DIY cake pan release recipe (sometimes called GOOP) that will keep your cakes, and anything else you bake up, from sticking to your pans.

 

What you’ll need.

 

oil flour vegetable oil

 

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shortening

*You can half this recipe if you need less.

Steps.

 

Add the flour, oil and shortening into a blender and blend into a smooth paste.

Spoon into a storage container or jar.

And that’s it! It’s that easy!

GOOP can be stored in an airtight container and will last a good while. You can use this for brownies, muffins or anything else you bake up!

 

How to use it.

 

Using a paint brush, brush a thin layer of the cake pan release onto the bottom and sides of your pans before adding your batter.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
Directions

Mix all ingredients in a blender until forming a paste. Store in an air tight container.
